Lepisanthes alata, often known as the Terengganu Cherry, is a species that originates in South East Asia and is used as a decorative plant in garden landscapes. Because of their lovely young, purple foliage and lengthy, purple inflorescences that develop into bright, shining, red clusters of fruit, Terengganu Cherry trees are frequently utilised as decorative trees.
Gather the fruits in groups once they are fully developed and have turned a deep scarlet. The meat is bright, sweet, and crunchy, and the skin can be astringent when it is not fully matured. If it is too young, the thin, outer skin could be astringent or dry out the mouth. It has three seeds per fruit and tastes sweet and tart.
Dietary fibre, sugar, and vitamin C are all found in Terengganu Cherry. It is also beneficial for protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and even skin wrinkling.
