The most prevalent Annona cultivar is Sugar Apple (Annona Squamosa). It is a tiny, densely branching tree or shrub of to the Annonaceae family that produces sweetops or sugar apples, which are edible fruits. Although its precise origin is unknown, it is indigenous to the tropical Americas and West Indies. Within its native habitat as well as in tropical areas around the world, the plant is widely cultivated as a commercial fruit tree. The flavour is nice and sweet-creamy, and the flesh is white with many black seeds. The fruit contains a significant amount of calories and a high amount of sugar (58%). (dry mass).
