Its maximum height is 25 metres, and it is a member of the Phyllanthaceae family. The plant is frequently grown for its edible fruit, primarily in Indonesia, and it is also grown as an ornamental and shade tree. The fruits are typically consumed raw, cooked, pickled, or fermented. The 20–24mm in diameter, subacid, yellow–green or reddish fruits with a pink pulp.
