A flowering plant species native to the Philippines and Indonesia called Luvi-Lovi/Flacourtia Inermis, sometimes referred to as Lovi-Lovi or Batoko plum, has naturalised on the periphery of tropical Asia and Africa. Tome-Tome, Lovi-Lovi, and Lobi-Lobi are some of the more typical names in Indonesia.
A small to medium-sized evergreen tree or shrub, the luvi can reach a height of 15 metres. The ideal conditions for this species’ growth are full sun, moist yet well-drained soil, and a base of organic compost or manure. It can grow on sandy soil but does badly in damp conditions. For its edible fruit, the tree is grown in tropical regions, mostly in China and India.
Bunches of Luvi Luvi fruits are produced.
