When the fruit is fully ripe, Plinia Coronata “Long Penduncle” Jaboticaba produces globose, dark purple fruit with some distinctive greenish bronze markings. Minor remnants of the sepals are frequently present in the 2–10 mm apical crown but are readily brushed off. The fruit develops on 8-22mm penduncles in bunches of 1-6 fruit. The leaves are 4-6 cm long, lanceolate, chartaceous, and hairless. The pulp has a delicious flavour and is sweet and succulent. Although Plinia Coronatas’ precocity is unclear, it normally takes 8 to 10 years for seeds to produce fruit.
