The oddest and coldest fruit on Borneo Island, the Kesusu Fruit (Prainea Limpato), is a member of the Jackfruit family and a variety of latex plant.

The seeds are easy to remove since they are soft, loosely attached to the fruit, and have an oily surface.

The pulp has a highly tropical aroma and a taste that is sweet with a hint of sourness, much like a garcinia (e.g. like the Purple Mangosteen).

The pods’ skin is soft and delicious, and they have an outward facing design. The ripe Kesusu is coloured orange and yellow. It resembles a star in every way.

Common Name: Karon, Buruni, and Ematak
