A kind of jaboticaba called “Campo De Ramon” is named after the Argentine town of Campo Ramon in the state of Misiones. Americans have only recently learned about it. Trees feature wavy leaves, excellent fruits, and they produce fruit early. Campo de Ramon offers a wide variety of bonsai due to its thin leaves and growth style.
The dark purple, globose, mature fruits have one to four small seeds. The pulp may have a pinkish tinge and taste much like maraschino cherries with undertones of Sabara Jaboticaba. It is thought that Sabara Jaboticaba grows more slowly than Campo de Ramon.
