UFMG Branca Horto de Otto Anderson, Phitrantha Branca, Giant White Leaf, and other common names for this Plinia phitrantha exist. It is renowned for having some of the biggest seeds and leaves of any jaboticaba. The semi-deciduous tree frequently has a dense crown and a crocked bole. In Brazil, it can reach heights of 4–7 metres and has lanceolate leaves that can be up to 18 cm long. The primary and lateral veins of the newly formed growth are deeply impressed when it emerges pubescent with a crimson colour and hardens off to dark green.
