The medium-sized Eugenia beaurepairiana tree has an extended crown and grows to a height of 20 metres in the middle of a forest. Its height under cultivation ranges from 4 to 6 metres. It is native and indigenous to the Atlantic Forest, which is located along the coast in the Brazilian states of So Paulo, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and Santa Catarina. For optimum growth, the plant requires a moister or better-drained soil. Planting at least two plants will increase your yield.
Local residents harvest the edible fruit from the wild and eat it. Although sweeter and tastier, it is similar to the regular uvaia. They are used to produce juices and ice cream in addition to being eaten fresh.
