In the woodlands of Rio Di Janiero, you can find Eugenia zuccarinii, one of the less well-known Eugenia species. Despite being close to tropical regions, this plant has been reported to withstand frosts and low temperatures of just 26°F! This species puts on impressive floral displays with an alluring aroma. It is a significant pollinator species in its native region, but honey bees and other pollinators in your area will probably find it attractive.
The fruits taste delicious when eaten raw and have a flavour that is a cross between dried plum and cherry. The fruit’s pulp, which is in good supply, can be utilised to make drinks, ice creams, and jellies. The tree is little and can be cultivated as a decorative item, to draw bees because it produces a great deal of blossoms, or even to draw birds and other wild creatures because they enjoy its fruits.
