Among the tree species in the Sapotaceae family is Ecclinusa ramiflora. They have a growth type that can support itself. A tree with a cylindrical, branched crown that can grow to a height of 5 to 10 metres; however, when cultivated, it begins to grow at 5 metres. In subtropical climates, they develop slowly, while in tropical conditions, they grow faster and larger. For its edible fruit, the tree is collected from the wild. From January through March, it typically bears fruit. The fruits are quite good to eat in their natural state and have a pulp that is slightly floury and moist with a flavour of coconut milk jam. The pulp has the ability to generate excellent juice when combined with milk, candies, and ice cream.
