The Crowned Jaboticaba, also known as Plinia Coronata, is a stunning, uncommon, and dark-colored jaboticaba belonging to the Myrtaceae family. It is one of the most distinctive and has a flavour profile similar to Sabara jaboticaba with a tinge of floral bubblegum or even root beer if plucked at an extremely ripe stage. These are a delightful departure from the other, more popular jaboticabas, which tend to taste more identical to one another, and are best eaten straight from the bowl after being newly picked. Beautiful and radically varying in size, the prominent crown at the sepal is a genuine feather in mother nature’s crown. If regularly irrigated and fertilised, 60%+ pulp by weight bears a few times per year after 2–5 years of fruiting.
