Eugenia anthropophaga is a little tree that grows 2 to 4 metres tall. It has a lovely cup and is recommended for planting in pots, orchards, and confined areas. It is a Myrtaceae species that has a highly interesting and attractive appearance. It is a South American native. It is occasionally taken from the wild for its palatable fruits. Being an early bearing species, it begins to bloom at the age of three. The fruit that the tree produces is acidic and sweet, reminding one of Passiflora edulis. Its fruits resemble little bananas and are elongated, flat, thorny, bright yellow berries that are about 5 cm long.
