In the Guarani language, Achachairu/Garcinia Humilis literally translates as “honey kiss.” A tiny evergreen tree with a pyramidal canopy, the achacha. The leaves are opposite, simple, thick, leathery, and brittle. They are glossy, darker green on top but lighter green underneath. This wonderful fruit is indigenous to Bolivia and is closely linked to the mangosteen. When achachairu is ripe, it turns yellowish-orange.

The Achachairu fruit is an evergreen shrub with a thick rind that becomes reddish-orange as it ripens and has a lovely aroma. It is frequently used as decoration due to its appealing colour and shape.

The achachairu fruit is either raw or transformed into juices or a cool summer beverage. Given the climate of India, it can thrive in tropical and subtropical regions. It enjoys being in the shade. In tropical areas, this plant has excellent commercial potential. It is used to make honey, which is then utilised medicinally. It is offered for sale for ten times the usual price of honey. It is currently becoming more widespread and being grown by collectors all over the world.
