Often referred to as fake mastic or yellow mastic, Sideroxylon foetidissimum is a species of flowering plant in the Sapotaceae family. The Caribbean, northern Central America, and Florida in the United States are its natural habitats. In Mexico, it is grown as a fruit tree and frequently harvested for its wood. The blossoms smell strongly of cheese and produce small, orange fruits with sticky, edible meat.
