Syzygium moorei is a magnificent Syzygium that can be found in the Australian rain forest. Known for its strikingly vivid, reddish-pink blossoms, which are followed by meaty, white fruits. Although edible, the fruits are mostly utilised in preserves. The cauliflory of this tree is an interesting feature. where the main stems or woody trunks, rather than fresh growth and shoots, are where the flower and fruit develop. This is primarily a tropical trait and is unique in New South Wales rainforest trees this far south. In some areas of Australia, it is a common street tree, although it is still uncommon nationwide.
