Commercial Wampee Fruit/ Clausena Lansium cultivation is done in China. The species is surprisingly different from another citrus despite being a member of the same family. It has a sweet and tangy flavour. You can eat the skin. The fruit’s peel is edible and has a citrus flavour, despite the fact that the fruit’s core feels somewhat like a grape.

Planting and Care

These trees are tolerant of a wide range of soils but prefer rich loam. Soil should be fertile and well-draining and supplemental water needs to be given in hot periods.

Uses/Benefits

It is best to eat fresh Wampee fruits. When fully ripe, the flesh of the sweeter variety is very sweet and refreshing. Add meat to desserts, cakes, curries, drinks, and jams.
