A medium-sized deciduous tree, it can reach heights of 25 to 35 metres. Several west African nations, including Nigeria, Nigeria, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The tree yields a priceless timber known as Keranji, which is exported internationally. Its lumber, which is also used locally, is taken from the wild. The tree is also grown to provide shade and produce fruit. You can eat the fruit’s sweet pulp. similar to tamarind but not as flavorful. The fruits are an oval, indehiscent pod that is 18 to 20 mm long, 13 to 15 mm wide, and contains one to two seeds. The ripening fruits are combined with sugar and chilli peppers, wrapped in thin plastic sheets, and sold in markets as a treat. Local markets sell the tasty pods. The plant prefers well-drained soil, and it typically takes three to four years for seeds to develop fruit.
