One of the greatest tasting and most intriguing species in the Myrtaceae family is Uvaia Brilhante/Eugenia Squamiflora. The tree has the potential to reach a height of 12 metres when left alone (3-4 m in cultivation). Due to its abundance of white blossoms, the tree is highly recommended as a honey tree and is quite beautiful. It can be grown in fertile soils with good drainage and a small bit of moisture in both subtropical and tropical climates.
It has excellent fruit with a skin that is a stunning 4 cm wide and orange in colour. The pulp is rich and flavorful, resembling that of Uvaia (Eugenia pyriformis), one of the best-tasting Eugenias.
