The Vitex orinocensis is an 8 to 18 metre tall shrub or tree that frequently has many trunks and an asymmetrical, rounded crown. Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and the Guyanas are South American natives. The tree produces edible fruit and lumber that are used locally. The fruit ranges in colour from light green to yellow and is around 1 cm long. The wood is firm. It is utilised in building.
