Flacourtia jangomas is a diminutive, 6–10 m–tall, deciduous shrub or tree. In older trees, the trunk and branches are frequently free of thorns, but in younger trees, they are frequently covered in simple or branched, blunt woody thorns. The leaves are light green and narrowly oval in shape, while the bark is flaky and light brown to copper-red in colour. It produces fragrant little white to yellowish green blooms. The spherical, pink to dark crimson, relatively delicious fruits are an inch in width.
