Small fruits that resemble elongated olives called “Silver Berries” (Elaeagnus Commutata) grow in tropical areas of Southeast Asia and parts of Africa. Because they are harvested early, silverberries are prized in their native tropical Asia.
The smooth, burnt orange skin of silverberries, which are small plants, is covered in tiny white lenticels, or pores. The silverberry’s thin peel hides a very juicy interior flesh and a centre seed with a sour or acidic flavour that are most frequently consumed fresh with sugar or used to create a sweet beverage.
