Peritassa laevigata is a bush with numerous fruit and strong branches. It is indigenous to South America, including Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, and Surinam; Central America, including Costa Rica; and the Caribbean, including Tobago. The tree’s edible fruits are taken from the wild. Delicious fruits with a crisp yellow-orange skin are produced by the tree. It is delicious to eat in its natural state because of the pulp’s luscious texture and sweet flavour.
