Rare cocoa known as Theobroma Sp “San Lorenzo” grows naturally in the Awá Indigenous Reserve nearby San Lorenzo, Ecuador. San Lorenzo Theobroma is the name by which it is known. The fruit is dark in colour, with a smooth rind and an oblong, spherical shape that comes in different sizes. The white flesh that surrounds the seeds has a milky texture and a sweet flavour.
