Spondias purpura is a species of flowering plant that is indigenous to the tropics of the Americas, from Mexico to Brazil, and is a member of the Anacardiaceae cashew family. The red mombin tree is a little tree that can grow as tall as 25 feet at its tallest. The majority of the Caribbean islands also frequently experience it. Fruit is a delicious commercial fruit that is very well-liked across its natural habitat. It is occasionally consumed unripe with salt, vinegar, and lime juice. The parthenocarpic fruit begins to ripen after 115 days, starting with anthesis. The fruit matures at the same time as the new vegetative shoots. Typically, fruit ripens in the dry season. when a lot of hours in direct sunshine result in higher sugars and therefore better fruit quality.
