Sphaerocoryne Affinis, a species of flowering plant from the Annonaceae or Soursop family, is known as Rumdul Fruit and is a common fruit in Thailand and Cambodia. The tree that bears this blossom is now known as Cambodia’s national flower because of its exquisite fragrance.
The Rumdul fruit becomes sweet and turns a deep, dark crimson as it ripens. During the Rumdul fruit season, many people go out in search of Rumdul fruit in order to sell it and make a living as the fruit is just as adored as the flower.
Since this fruit has a highly distinct perfume that can be perceived from great distances, it is used to preserve oil for aromatherapy and healing. A rumdul tree can easily be found in the wild, particularly in Cambodia.
