A Sapotaceae family tree with a very low occurrence rate is Pouteria durlandii. They are indigenous to S. America, specifically Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Guyana, as well as C. America, specifically Panama to Mexico. It can reach heights of 10 to 15 metres. It is a 5- to 12-meter-tall semideciduous tree with a dense crown. The bole is 20 cm in diameter, somewhat grooved, and has a self-supporting growth type.
