Southeast Brazil is the natural home of the Plinia Oblongata, often known as Jabuticaba Azeda or Sour Jaboticaba. This cultivar is renowned for its ability to produce nearly flawless globose black fruits up to 4 cm in diameter with amazingly smooth skin that frequently includes a little nipple at the junction with the peduncle.
