Pitanga de Perdiz/Eugenia Observa is a shrubby bush or small tree native to the scrublands of central and southern Brazil. It grows very quickly and can reach heights of several feet. It is also known as Guamirim de Perdiz and Guamirim vermelho do cerrado.
Small and red in hue, the fruit resembles Eugenia reinwardtiana. The fruit tastes somewhat like a cross between persimmon and dragon fruit with a hint of red guava.
