Northeastern Brazil’s low elevation, seasonally dry forests are home to the extremely uncommon Annona bahiensis, a little tree growing to approximately 10 m tall with thick, leathery leaves, fragrant flowers, and small, yellowish, edible fruits. It tastes excellent and the pulp is delicious. Since pulp lacks fibre and is firmer than standard Rollinia pulp, it is excellent for consumption. This species’ fruits have an extremely long shelf life of seven to ten days.
