The rare tree species Perebea guianensis belongs to the Moraceae family. They can reach heights of up to 15 metres and have a self-supporting growth structure. They are indigenous to South Tropical America’s Amazonia. The Neotropics, Pará, and Acre (Brazil). The plant is taken out of the wild and used locally as food and medicinal. Raw fruit can be consumed. Fruits are incredibly attractive and have a sweet, somewhat acidic flavour.
