Fast-growing semi-deciduous fruit trees like the Matisia/Quararibea Cordata are found in the Amazon rainforests of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It produces orange-yellow fruit with 2 to 5 seeds that is delicate, juicy, and sweet. The fruit’s fibrous, sweet, yellow-orange pulp is consumed fresh. The flavour has hints of mango and apricot as well as a very sweet pumpkin flavour. There are varieties with hardly any fibre, and these can be used to make juice.
