Garcinia/Madrono Fruit Brazilian, Bolivian, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, and Colombian rainforests are home to the compact, evergreen Madruno tree species, which bears fruit.
The fruit is yellow in colour and has a translucent, whitish pulp underneath that is juicy, softly aromatic, and pleasantly subacid. In addition to being consumed raw, the fruit can also be used to make jams, preserves, and beverages.
The yellow latex produced by the tree is used to cure wounds and ulcers. Its pinkish, coarse-textured wood is used to make heavy construction, flooring, heavy duty furniture, and general carpentry.
