Garcinia oblongifolia is a shrub or small tree growing from 5 – 15 metres tall. The bole can be up to 30cm in diameter. It is an edible fruiting Garcinia from eastern Asia. The yellow fruits have edible pulp and are said to be mostly collected from wild trees, with some very limited cultivation. This is a very little known Garcinia species, with a similar growth habit to more common forms. Shrubby, evergreen to 15-45 ft / 5-15 m. Dioecious. Needs a tropical climate, unknown frost tolerance.
