A rare and brand-new large Garcinia is Garcinia sp. Lindero. It grows in Northern South America and produces huge fruits with rough skin that are 6 to 8 cm × 5 to 7 cm in size. The tree is a large-leaved understory tree. Compared to other American garcinias, this fruit is significantly more palatable and ranges from being sweet to subacid.
