A tree with a dense crown that can vary in size from 3 to 30 metres tall is called Baccaurea lanceolata. It is dispersed over tropical rain forests in places like Borneo, Kalimantan, and Sumatra. This fruit still belongs to the same family as the Menteng Fruit, which has a sweet and tart flavour when ripe. Typically, lempaung trees grow extremely dense fruit that covers the entire tree trunk, from the bottom to the top. The plant is occasionally grown in fruit orchards and harvested from the wild for use in local cuisine and traditional medicine.
