A little tree of the myrtle family with native ranges in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America is known as the Lalith Guava or Psidium Guajava.
It has a distinct flavour that has been compared to papaya or a cross between a strawberry and a pear. Its delicate, luscious meat has a fragrant, musky scent.
Fresh guavas are frequently consumed raw and can be cut and served with sugar and cream as a dessert. They are high in vitamins A, B, and C.
