Kowa Fruit/ Garcinia Cowa is an evergreen tropical fruit plant commonly known as Cowa Fruit or Cowa Mangosteen, with edible fruit, native to Asia, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Southwest China.
It is also known as the Malabar tamarind, appearance of a small pumpkin, and its fruit taste sweet with sourness in balance, colour varies from green to pale yellow.
It is only one of several hundreds of species of the genus Garcinia, whose origin comes most likely from India and Southeast Asia. The tree is harvested for its edible fruits and leaves.
