Kosseri Mango Live Plants

It is an intriguing mango variety that was developed by Mr. Kurian Gerorge Kosseril in the Keralan town of Thodupuzha-Karimannoor (Idukki district). It is a medium-sized tree with exceptionally sweet fruit that can weigh up to 2 kilogrammes on average. Three years after grafting, plants begin to bloom.

Planting and Care

Although the plant can grow in practically any soil, it prefers well-drained soil that is protected from the cold. For best fruit production, place the tree where it will receive direct sunlight.

Special Feature

They are an excellent source of potassium and magnesium, both of which are linked to normal heartbeat and lower blood pressure. Mangiferin, a substance found in mangos, has been shown to have potential for treating cardiac inflammation. Mangos can support digestive system stabilisation.

Uses/Benefits

In traditional medicine, mango stem bark and leaves have been used to cure scabies, diabetes, diarrhoea, skin infections, and anaemia. Chutney, pickles, curries, and items made from dried fruit like panna, amchoor (raw mango powder), and dried mango are all made from green fruit (green mango beverage). Ripe fruit is processed to provide cereal flakes, toffee, pulp, concentrate, juices, nectar, jam, and numerous dry goods.
