Only the Indonesian province of Kalimantan is home to the rare Southeast Asian species known as kedang fruits (Artocarpus Lanceifolius).
From the appearance, it resembles jackfruit but is distinct, and the taste is a cross between jackfruit and mangosteen. The seeds are consumed after being roasted, but the juicy orange flesh is eaten fresh. Rigid hair covers the underside of the tree’s twigs, leaf stalks, and veins.
