A rare Syzyjium cultivar called Jambu Bira is distinguished by its tiny fruit size. When the fruit is ripe, it becomes red. The Jambu Bira fruit has the advantage of being able to produce smaller, more densely packed crimson fruits. The Papuan guava fruit has a light sweet-sour flavour. It is much more appetising when used to produce salads and can be consumed directly in its fresh state.
