Garcinia/Imbe Fruit Known as Livingstone’s garcinia, African mangosteen, Lowveld mangosteen, or Imbe, Livingstonei is a species of Garcinia that is native to a large region of tropical Africa.
Known for its distinctive flavour, the imbe fruit is a tropical fruit that sticks out. Its fruit is small, bright orange, thin-skinned, and edible. The flesh has an apricot-like taste and is both delightfully sweet and somewhat acidic. Fruits can be consumed either raw or cooked in porridge. They are moderately mineral-rich and high in carbs.
