An unbranched or sparsely branching evergreen tree, Gabon Grape (Trichoscypha Acuminata) is a native of the jungles of Gabon, Congo, Cameroun, and Nigeria. For local use as food and medicine, the tree is picked from the wild. The pulp can be consumed raw, has a sweet vinous flavour, and is used to produce jam. Fruit juice also makes a tasty beverage.
