A extremely uncommon and quickly growing Abiu species called fuzzy can be found mostly in the Brazilian cerrado. The most frequent names for it are abiurana, abiu-piloso, and cabo-de-machado. A bit sweeter and denser than regular abiu, fuzzy abiu has both. The ovoid fruits are around 5 cm long and 4 cm wide, and the nicest thing about fuzzy abiu is that the fuzz prevents the fruit flies from stinging them.
