The plant species Campomanesia phaea belongs to the Myrtaceae family. Although it is a scarce plant in the wild, household orchards in its native habitat frequently grow it for its tasty fruit. The plant is unique to Brazil’s southeast Atlantic Forest ecoregion. States where it is found include Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and So Paulo. The tree and fruit are both known as cambuci in Brazil. Fruit is consumed in several forms, including raw, sherbet, and juiced. Its pulp is succulent and flavour is delightfully acidic, somewhat sweet, and astringent. Even at the peak of ripeness, the fruits are a dark green colour. They have a form that resembles a flying saucer and are around 7 cm in diameter. Both tropical and subtropical climates benefit from the plant.
