The Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in Brazil is where Plinia Phitrantha “ESALQ” gets its name. Botanist and agronomic Joao Rodrigues de Mattos examined this cultivar in the 1970s, and as a result of his findings, it has subsequently gained popularity. Fruits from the tree have huge seeds and a superb sweet flavour. 4-5 years old fruits.
