The species of Pawpaw known as Asimina parviflora is significantly less popular. It grows in dry pine and oak woodlands in East Texas and further southwest into Central Texas. Greenish fruits with soft, sweet pulp are produced by this species. The fruits are a little bit smaller than those of a standard Pawpaw, and the plant grows more compactly, rarely exceeding a height of more than 6 to 10 feet. Like the common Pawpaw, it can withstand frosts.
