Three Australian rainforest tree species collectively known as the Davidson, Davidson’s Plum, and QLD Davidson make up the genus Davidsonia Pruriens. Although the fruits are not closely related, they resemble the European Plum on the surface. All species are prized for their gourmet bushfood due to their delicious sour fruit with burgundy-colored flesh. The medium-sized fruit has a good acid flavour and when completely mature turns a deep purple hue, resembling a plum. Beautifully acidic, the pulp is a vivid crimson colour.
