Among the tree species in the Combretaceae family is Terminalia microcarpa. It has a 10-to-40-meter height range. The straight, cylindrical bole, which has buttresses at the base and can be up to 200 cm in diameter, can be unbranched for up to half the height of the tree. It is indigenous to eastern Asia, including northern Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and New Guinea. While the timber is a significant exportable hardwood in New Guinea, the edible fruit is often collected from the wild for local usage. Additionally, the tree offers locals with materials and medications. In the Philippines, where the fruit occasionally appears for sale in neighbourhood markets, the tree is grown as a fruit crop on a home garden size.
