A low-growing, erect shrub, Cerrado Bacupari/Peritassa Campestis grows to a height of less than 1.5 metres. Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina are South American natives. A 4–7 cm glabrous yellow or orange fruit with a pleasant, juicy, sparse pulp was produced. In their natural settings, fruits typically ripen from October through November. For domestic usage, edible fruits are collected from the wild.
